Hello! I’m Emma-Kate.

I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Menstrual Cycle Coach. I help women balance their hormones and live in harmony with their cycle, not against it. It’s time to shift the narrative that our menstrual cycles and periods are a “curse” that we must just “deal with”, hide, or feel ashamed about. Instead, we should be celebrating, embracing, and tapping into the powers of our cyclic nature. My objective is to educate and empower menstruators to better understand their hormones and deeply connect with their bodies.

I had a long history of not listening to my body so now it is one of the main things I preach.

I went through my teens and early twenties believing that all the nagging and uncomfortable symptoms were normal and that they were the price to pay for having a uterus. I experienced severe PMS, debilitating cramps, heavy periods, unpredictable and volatile mood swings, depression, uncontrollable emotional outbursts, cyclical acne, constipation, fatigue, and insomnia. Despite all my suffering, I continued to believe these symptoms were normal.

Turns out “normal” couldn’t be further from the truth.

I went to college for Health and Fitness with the hopes of becoming a Group Training Instructor and Personal Trainer, but during my studies I developed an interest for nutrition which ultimately led me down a different path. After graduating, my growing passion led me to dive deep into the world of nutrition and the power of food.

I followed blogs and social media accounts and read countless books about nutrition, hormones and menstruality. I learned that the PMS symptoms I’ve been dealing with was not normal, but instead an indication of an internal imbalance. I learned about nourishing my fluctuating hormones by eating specific foods and to pay better attention to my body instead of ignoring its messages. As I kept implementing changes while tracking my cycle, signs and symptoms, I began to feel at home in my body and empowered. After about 10 years of struggling with hormone imbalance, I finally had some clarity on how to balance my own hormones through whole nutrient dense foods, a healthy lifestyle, and proper supplementation.

I enrolled in the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to deepen my knowledge and become a practitioner so I could help others. In the fall of 2021, I graduated from CSNN and earned the designation of Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Through my extensive studies in and out of school, I developed a wealth of knowledge and passion for holistic living. Having experienced hormonal imbalances myself, I see the power that nutrition and lifestyle has and want to share it with others. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I focus on clients as a whole (body, mind, and spirit) and recognize everyone as an individual and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I am skilled at evaluating dietary habits, health history, lifestyle habits and emotional state of an individual to determine the root cause of their health issues. From there, I make recommendations to improve health with nutrient dense foods, personalized supplementation, and lifestyle recommendations.

Additionally, I completed a 6-month training program to become a Menstrual Cycle Coach. This provided me the knowledge, tools and resources to better support clients and their menstrual cycles.
